Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu starts at Km 104 (104 kilometer along the railway from Cusco to Machu Picchu) located at 2,100 masl at the place named Chachabamba. It’s 13 km of distance that can be covered in 6 -7 hour trek. This trek is perfect for people who don’t want to spend much time in the mountains but still want to feel the charm of the energetic mountains and the cloud forest.
The Short Inca Trail is considered one of the most scenic short distance treks in Peru. Running along the border with the Amazon Jungle, the trek offers amazing views of some of the most pristine and unspoiled landscapes in Peru.
SHORT TREK ITINERARY
Day 1: Aguas Calientes
Board the morning train to Chachabamba or km 104 and hike 13 km through staining mountain scenery.
Day 2: Machu Picchu
Full-day will be dedicated to explore Machu Picchu; your guide will explain you all about Machu Picchu; in the afternoon, you will return to Cusco.
