Factors such as climatic and health conditions of the trekking team members may require us to adjust the route accordingly. Rest assured, our manager will make every effort to ensure the trip runs smoothly, but please be prepared for contingencies.
Please keep in mind that flights to and from Cusco are subject to weather conditions and delays can occur. In light of this, we strongly recommend extending your stay in Cusco by one or two nights after completing the 4-Day Scenic Salkantay Trekking. Physical Demands:
When planning a trekking expedition to the Andes, there are three essential elements of preparation to consider: aerobic conditioning, strength training, and mental preparedness. Due to the high altitude and thinner air, it is crucial to focus on aerobic conditioning to minimize the potential effects of altitude sickness. Engaging in activities like walking with a weighted backpack for at least two hours a day, running, biking, Nordic walking, or rock climbing that elevate the heart rate for extended periods, will help in building the required aerobic fitness.
During the trek, you can expect to walk for approximately 6-8 hours a day, including reaching the highest point at 4650m. Your health and wellbeing are crucial for a successful adventure, so we highly recommend consulting with your doctor before booking and taking their advice into consideration.

As an established adventure company, we hire professional trekking leaders and invest in enhancing the skills of our staff to ensure their utmost efficiency.
Our knowledgeable guides possess intricate knowledge of the local breeds, customs, and cultural aspects along the trails that extend beyond guidebook coverage. Embark on this journey, and seize the opportunity to learn and immerse yourself in the cultural richness that awaits you.
Travel Insurance:
Travel insurance is a crucial aspect of ensuring comprehensive protection during your trip. Especially for engaging in risky activities, it is essential to have specialized travel insurance. A highly recommended travel insurance policy should encompass evacuation, trip cancellation, personal injury, death, loss of luggage, theft, liability, medical treatment, and expenses. It is important to thoroughly review and confirm whether the insurance coverage includes all the activities you plan to undertake during your stay in Peru.
Permits and Fees:
Permits and fees are an important aspect to consider when visiting Peru. Certain areas, including World Heritage Sites, National Parks, and restricted areas like the Salkantay Trail, require permits and fees for entry. Rest assured that all travel prices provided by us include the cost of these permits and entrance fees.
