SHORT ITINRARY

Day 1:  Cusco

Arrival to Cusco in the morning and in the afternoon, you will have the city tour where you will have option to see 6 touristic places: The Cathedral, Qorikancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.

The Inti Raymi Tour Cusco is package of four day; it starts in the city of Cusco situated at one hour fly from Lima the Capital of Peru. Inti Raymi Tour Cusco takes you to visit the surrounds of the city, experience one of the most important Inca festivals and explore the splendid Machu Picchu.

There were several reasons that prompted the Inca civilization to make sacrifices and offerings to the sun. One was that the Inca, as the Cuzco nobility, were considered natural children of the Sun; to obey his existence, and should correspond with sacrifices and offerings.
The sun went away (June – winter solstice), the cold increased in the early mornings the water froze, therefore, had to ask the Sun return, at twilight it would not continue moving north. Finally, we had to attest to the god Inti, eternity and total submission of their children, with submission and respect.

Day 1
Arrival to Cusco

The Inti Raymi Tour Cusco start once you arrive to Cusco airport at any time before noon; however, we must know your flight details for the reception and transfer you to your designated hotel and assist you checking in the hotel. There you will have time to rest and acclimate to Cusco’s elevation (3,400m). In the afternoon, you will have city tour that start at 01:30 p.m.

For the city tour we’ll pick you up from the hotel and depart on a guided tour, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit 6 places (entrance to the archaeological centers are included) we will visit the Main square, the Cathedral, the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun) in addition, we will make a route bordering archaeological centers like Sacsayhuaman Fortress, Q’enko, PukaPukara and Tambomachay, tour finishes at 06:30 p.m approximately at the main square in order you can take dinner in one of the exquisite restaurants in the area, then overnight (No meals included).

Day 2
Inti Raymi Tour

The Inti Raymi Tour begins at 08:30 a.m once we pick you up from the hotel and we walk 10 minutes to Qorikancha escorted by an experienced guide; Qorikancha was the Main Temple of the Sun in the time of the Incas; Qorikancha means shining gold, is because this temple was fully cover with gold; here there was many idols of animals like: Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, condors, etc. also human idols all of them at the same size than normal life.

In Qorikancha starts the Inti Raymi ceremony in honour to the sun; begins with amazing leather drums, pututus (seashells) and flutes music. Here the first ritual and the speech of the Sapa Inca will star honoring the sun and Mother Nature. From Qorikancha, the Sapa Inca is carried on litter accompanied by the priest priestesses, parents and noble Incas toward the famous Huaccaypata, Cusco’s actual main Square.

The Sapa Inka and his real priestesses and guards enter by the street Intikijllu this takes approx 1 hour. Then, the group with your guide is transferred in a private transport to the Sacsayhuaman Esplanade where the ceremony reaches to the maximum elegancy. At Sacsayhuaman, the ceremony starts at 01:30 p.m and ends at 03:00 p.m; here the Sapa Inka will give a speech in the ancestral Inca’s language, Quechua; Rituals and offering of chicha, a corn beer and a ceremony of the new fire celebrated by the Inca priest, afterward an Inca priest will predict the future of the Inca word or Tahuantinsuyo people; after that dancer from all over Peru continue the celebration and we will return to Cusco.

Day 3
Machu Picchu Trip

We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 05:30 a.m and transfer you in our van to the train station of Ollantaytambo; the journey will be for 1:45 hour. Then we’re gonna take the train through the Sacred Valley with spectacular views in this stunning land of the Incas, amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces on both sides of the valley, snow-capped mountains and cloud forest.

The train ride will be two hours until the town of “Aguas Calientes” and from here we will take a bus for 25 minutes up to Machu Picchu; the tour within Machu Picchu will be for two hours approximately after which you will have extra time to explore by yourself. After you finish, you must take the bus down to “Aguas Calientes” where you can have your lunch before heading to the train station and return to Cusco.
