TREK OVERVIEW
Three-day Challenge Salkantay Trek starts in the city of Cusco situated at one hour flight from Lima The capital of Peru. On the first day we commence at 4:30am when we pick you up from your hotel and travel in or private car to the zone of Soraypampa at 3,800m; from where we start walk up to the Salkantay pass at 4,600m. Then we’ll descent to the pristine forest; where we’ll have the choice to see wildlife in their natural habitat and local farms. The Challenge Salkantay Trek ends in the Inca sanctuary of Machu Picchu at 2,400m, which we’ll explore site by site.
During the Challenge Salkantay Trek we include one camping night in the zone of Chaullay (Our exclusive camp) and one night in a hotel of 3-stars category in the town of Aguas Calientes. The trekking is full portered trekking; we provide horses and horseman for the camping equipment; one baffle bag per person for your personal belongings where you can put up to 6 kilos; which will transported by the horse. Our staff is highly professional and well-trained in high altitude trekking.

Day 1: Drive 4-hour and Trek to Chaullay camp
Pick up time from your hotel at 4:00am and drive 4-hour to the zone of Soraypampa at 3,800m the starting point of the trek. Today is the hardest day because we’ll pass over 4,600 masl (the Salkantay Pass).

We’ll trek to Qollpapampa village and drive a car to the zone of Hidroelectrica from where we’ll walk through the Urubamba River/valley to the town of Aguas Calientes and have accommodation in the hotel

Day 3: Explore Machu Picchu
Today we’ll explore the magnificent Machu Picchu; the tour guide will lead you through the most important sites of the Inca sanctuary, after the tour you’ll have free time for further exploration. In the afternoon we’ll return to Cusco
